I graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2018. The same year, I got married and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. I've kept a low profile by serving a church and freelancing for a few years. During that time, I was happy, but poor. I had freedom, but couldn't make ends meet. I had valuable skills, but my environment was limiting. I call that short period in my life the time of hibernation. The time of hibernation was critical to my human development by allowing the space to consider the world and how I wanted to impact it. I have big ideas, but I could not ponder and plan them out for too long because the way I was living was not financially sustainable. The first stage in my plan was to move. I took a leap of faith by moving to Phoenix, Arizona. This song is about that journey. I used a simile of a bear hibernating in comparison to my life to paint a picture of my transition from being in the hole to coming out the hole and awakening to my purpose.
